About the Acupuncturist
Emmy Cushnir, L.Ac., R.N., is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Registered Nurse with over 20 years of healthcare experience.
Emmy combines Traditional Chinese Medicine with evidence-based research on Integrative Cancer Care in her practice. She specializes in supportive cancer care, pain management, and women's health.
Emmy received her Masters Degree in Traditional Chinese Medical Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medical Herbology from Five Branches Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Santa Cruz, CA, in 1992. Emmy received her R.N. in 1984; she specialized in Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care at Highland Hospital in Oakland and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose.

Emmy has a sound understanding of Western medical approaches to cancer treatment and of the role of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Supportive Cancer Care. Emmy works cooperatively with medical doctors and other healthcare professionals to provide the best care for each patient.
Emmy leads a support group at WomenCARE in Santa Cruz on complementary treatment for women with all kinds of cancer.
